Unless Ireland Gets Four Million Migrants, It's State Pension System Will Collapseby staff
Ireland needs four million migrant workers PRONTO. Their numbers of older people is rising fast and the present population of under 65 year old people will not be enough to fund the pensions of the country's elderly.
This harsh warning was made to the Government's Pension Commission. Falling birth rates has made the present pension system untenable. By 2051 there will be 2.3 people for every person over 65. Of that 2.3 number, less than 1.5 will be of working age to maintain the taxes that shore up the pension system.
When one considers that the entire population of The Republic of Ireland was only 4.904 million in 2019, saying that it needs 4 million new workers is astonishing.
